5 Foundational Principles:
1. We believe in the God of the Bible...
…and His choice to relate to us through Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection. Jesus, who lived fully following God’s will, gave us an example to follow regularly in the struggle with our faulty willfulness.
2. We believe that God’s original plan...
…to walk with us through our present garden hasn’t changed, although both the garden and we have been corrupted. We are dependent on God’s grace as He confronts, encourages, forgives, comforts, guides, and loves us.
3. God is a God of relationships...
…and thus teaches and encourages us through the individuals He puts in our lives. Many people feel God is distant or too abstract when their faith is challenged. However, God uses the relationships formed in the community of the CLA for His purpose to ensure that no one walks alone.
4. We celebrate the sisterhood and brotherhood...
…of those with similar interests and talents in landscaping. We are better together than apart occupationally, creatively, and spiritually. God needs to be integrated into every aspect of our lives.
5. We seek spiritual unity...
